Depot Operations Manager

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Depot Operations Manager to lead a busy depot within the environmental services sector. Reporting to the Regional Operations Manager, you will be responsible for safe, efficient service delivery while ensuring compliance with transport and environmental legislation.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, develop and motivate depot teams to achieve performance targets.
• Manage operational KPIs, budgets and cost control.
• Oversee recruitment, onboarding and staff development.
• Ensure compliance with Operator Licence legislation and health & safety standards.
• Build and maintain strong customer relationships.
• Coordinate fleet, workshop and third‑party haulage providers.
• Drive continuous improvement across depot operations.

Required profile

• Proven operational leadership experience, preferably in waste management, logistics or a similar environment.
• Strong people management and coaching abilities.
• Commercial awareness with experience of budget management.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Full UK Driving Licence (LGV Class 2 desirable).

Required skills

• CPC qualification.
• Good IT skills.
