Deputy Chief Nurse – Senior Nursing Leadership

About the role

The Deputy Chief Nurse provides strategic, professional and clinical nursing leadership across the Trust, working in partnership with the Chief Nurse to achieve quality, safety and workforce objectives. This senior role is responsible for promoting excellence in nursing practice, education, patient experience and workforce development.

Key responsibilities

• Lead nursing governance, quality, patient safety and experience initiatives.
• Manage safeguarding, infection control, workforce and education teams.
• Support organisational transformation, service improvement and compliance with national standards.
• Drive innovation, research, quality improvement and foster an inclusive culture.
• Oversee financial and budget management related to nursing services.

Required profile

• Extensive senior nursing leadership experience within an NHS or comparable healthcare setting.
• Proven ability to lead large multidisciplinary teams and manage complex projects.
• Strong understanding of nursing governance, quality standards and regulatory requirements.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
