Deputy General Manager Clinical – Care Home

About the role

The Deputy General Manager Clinical will act as the Care Home Deputy Manager and Clinical Lead, supporting the delivery of high‑quality care. Working closely with the General Manager, you will step in to lead the team, uphold care standards, and inspire a multidisciplinary workforce to enhance residents' quality of life.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the General Manager in day‑to‑day operations and assume leadership duties in their absence.
• Monitor and improve care standards through regular audits, supervised clinical practice, and regulatory compliance checks.
• Lead, motivate and develop a multidisciplinary team to deliver person‑centred care.
• Conduct safeguarding investigations and clinical risk assessments.
• Support newly qualified nurses through preceptorship and mentorship.
• Contribute to HR functions, budget management, and sales/marketing initiatives.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse (RN/RMN) with current NMC registration.
• Teaching, mentoring or supervision qualification.
• Proven experience managing residents with diverse health needs.
• Track record of handling safeguarding investigations and clinical risk assessments.
• Experience in HR, budget management and basic sales/marketing knowledge.
• Compassionate, resilient and committed to delivering quality care.
