Deputy General Manager Clinical (Care Home)

About the role

As Deputy General Manager Clinical you will support the General Manager in delivering high‑quality care within a Barchester care home. You will lead a multidisciplinary team, ensure compliance with regulatory standards and help residents achieve the best possible quality of life.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the General Manager in day‑to‑day operations and act as the senior leader in their absence.
• Monitor and audit care standards, clinical practice and regulatory compliance.
• Develop and implement strategies to improve resident outcomes and team performance.
• Lead safeguarding investigations and conduct clinical risk assessments.
• Oversee budgeting, sales and marketing activities for the home.
• Provide mentorship and preceptorship for newly qualified nurses.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse (RN/RMN) with current NMC registration.
• Teaching, mentoring or supervision qualification.
• Proven experience managing residents with diverse health needs.
• Track record of handling safeguarding investigations and clinical risk assessments.
• Some HR experience and understanding of budget management.
• Compassionate, resilient and committed to delivering quality care.
