Deputy General Manager – Clinical

About the role

The Deputy General Manager Clinical will support the delivery of high‑quality care at Leonard Lodge care home, working closely with the General Manager and stepping in to lead when required. This role combines clinical oversight with people management to ensure residents enjoy the best possible quality of life.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the General Manager in day‑to‑day operations and act as the clinical lead in their absence.
• Monitor and audit care standards, clinical practice and regulatory compliance.
• Lead, motivate and develop a multidisciplinary team of care staff.
• Conduct safeguarding investigations and clinical risk assessments.
• Support budgeting, sales and marketing activities related to the care home.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse (RN/RMN) with current NMC registration.
• Teaching, mentoring or supervision qualification.
• Experience managing residents with diverse health needs.
• Proven track record in safeguarding investigations and clinical risk assessment.
• Knowledge of HR processes, budget management and preceptorship for newly qualified nurses.
