Deputy Head of Procurement & Supply Chain

About the role

The Deputy Head of Procurement & Supply Chain will support the Head of Procurement and Supply Chain in leading the operational delivery of procurement and supply chain services for Homerton Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. The role ensures day‑to‑day functions run smoothly and that commercial processes meet the needs of the Trust and the wider North East London Integrated Care System.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage the operational aspects of the procurement and supply chain team.
• Engage with internal stakeholders and external partners across the Trust and the NEL Integrated Care System to ensure processes, resources and systems are fit for purpose.
• Design and implement new processes such as contract register, structured savings plan, procurement work plan and standardisation plan.
• Promote a positive, inclusive and customer‑focused culture for both internal users and external suppliers.
• Collaborate with NEL PP and partner organisations to realise efficiencies, supplier rationalisation and cash‑releasing savings.
• Ensure transactional procurement services meet organisational needs and drive continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Proven experience in leading procurement or supply chain operations within a large, complex organisation.
• Strong stakeholder engagement skills across multiple health and care partners.
• Ability to design and implement process improvements and savings initiatives.
• Commitment to inclusive, professional team leadership.
