Deputy Headteacher / Co-Headteacher – Independent Boarding School

About the role

The school is seeking an ambitious senior leader to join its senior team as Deputy Headteacher or Co‑Headteacher. This role will support the Headteacher in delivering academic excellence, pastoral care and the school’s distinctive Islamic ethos within a modern, inclusive boarding environment.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with the Headteacher to shape strategic direction and drive whole‑school improvement.
• Lead curriculum development and ensure high standards of teaching and learning.
• Oversee pastoral care, boarding life and student wellbeing initiatives.
• Develop and mentor staff, fostering professional growth and collaborative practice.
• Manage performance data, reporting and compliance with regulatory requirements.

Required profile

• Current Assistant Headteacher ready to progress or Deputy Headteacher seeking broader responsibilities.
• Proven track record of raising standards, staff development and school improvement.
• Commitment to the school’s values of integrity, compassion, excellence and service.
• Respect for the Islamic ethos; personal faith not a requirement.
