Deputy Hospital Cleaning Services Manager

About the role

We are seeking a Deputy Hospital Cleaning Services Manager to support the delivery of high‑quality domestic services across a large, busy hospital site. Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will help maintain exceptional cleaning standards, drive service improvements and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Support day‑to‑day management of cleaning services across wards and departments.
• Lead, motivate and develop large operational teams to meet performance and quality targets.
• Ensure compliance with Health & Safety, COSHH, risk assessments and safe systems of work.
• Build strong relationships with ward managers, lead nurses and other key stakeholders.
• Drive customer satisfaction, service improvements and operational excellence.
• Deputise for the Operations Manager, assuming full responsibility in their absence.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing large teams, preferably within facilities or cleaning services.
• Previous supervisory experience in healthcare support, retail, leisure or a similar sector.
• Strong people‑management and leadership abilities.
• Confident communicator able to engage at all organisational levels.
• Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, 24/7 healthcare environment.
