Deputy Pastoral Care Manager

About the role

The Deputy Pastoral Care Manager will lead a dedicated team to meet the emotional and behavioural needs of young people with complex needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder and Social, Emotional and Mental Health challenges. You will work closely with families and staff to create a supportive learning environment where every pupil can thrive.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and motivate the pastoral care team to deliver high standards of care.
• Develop and implement individual care programmes for each young person.
• Collaborate with families, clinicians and teachers to assess needs and plan interventions.
• Maintain a safe, positive learning environment and ensure compliance with safeguarding policies.
• Monitor progress and adjust support plans as required.

Required profile

• Proven experience working with young people with BESD, ASD or SEMH in a school or care setting.
• Strong organisational and team‑management abilities.
• Excellent listening and communication skills.
• Flexibility and the capacity to adapt plans to individual needs.
