Deputy Practice Manager – Family Help (Wigan)

About the role

Join the Children and Families service as a Deputy Practice Manager, supporting the delivery of high-quality family help across one or two Neighbourhood Teams in Wigan. You will work within a multi-agency framework to improve outcomes for families with complex needs.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Family Help Practice Manager in delivering an effective service to children and families.
• Manage team workload, handle complex cases and deputise for the Practice Manager as required.
• Develop action plans with families, providing coaching and support to build resilience.
• Promote the Early Help Framework and ensure evidence-based assessments and interventions.
• Supervise locality staff through the My Time / My Time Extra processes, maintaining quality standards.
• Support financial decisions for the locality budget and ensure services stay within constraints.
• Maintain GDPR compliance by reviewing and securely disposing of data.

Required profile

• Qualified caring professional with a Level 4 qualification or equivalent experience working with children and families.
• Evidence of a management qualification or willingness to obtain one.
• Supervisory experience in inspected services and commitment to continuous professional development.
• Completed training in safeguarding, family/parenting support, health and education.
• Strong understanding of integrated service delivery and legislative frameworks.
• Excellent relationship-building, influencing and negotiation skills.
• Valid driving licence or ability to travel as required.
