Deputy SENDCo / Behaviour Support Officer

About the role

We are partnering with Harris Lowe Academy in Brent to recruit a Deputy SENDCo who will also act as a Behaviour Support Officer. Working closely with the SENDCo and pastoral team, you will help create an inclusive environment where all students can thrive.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with the SENDCo to oversee day‑to‑day SEND and pastoral provisions.
• Design and deliver targeted behaviour interventions to re‑engage students.
• Collaborate with teachers, parents and external specialists to develop tailored support plans.
• Champion an inclusive school culture as a positive role model and advocate.

Required profile

• Proven experience in a pastoral, behaviour support or SEND role within a UK secondary school.
• Strong knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice and positive behaviour management.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to de‑escalate challenging situations.
• Motivation to work collaboratively in a high‑performing team.
