Deputy Store Manager – Retail Leadership

About the role

We are seeking a Deputy Store Manager to support the General Manager in running Zara’s Birmingham store. This hands‑on leadership position involves overseeing sales, stock flow, team performance and the overall customer experience in a fast‑moving, high‑volume environment.

Key responsibilities

• Drive store performance to meet and exceed KPIs, coordinating with product, operations and CX teams.
• Ensure efficient stock flow, replenishment and product availability.
• Lead, motivate and develop a large, diverse team; manage rotas, productivity and payroll within budget.
• Support recruitment, performance management and succession planning.
• Partner with HR on employee relations and wellbeing initiatives.
• Deliver an exceptional customer journey and maintain high presentation standards.
• Uphold health & safety, security and cash management procedures, reducing shrinkage.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading in a fast‑paced, high‑volume retail environment.
• Strong commercial mindset with confidence using KPIs and data.
• Experience managing large teams and driving performance.
• Highly organised with excellent planning and prioritisation skills.
• Resilient, adaptable and solution‑focused under pressure.
• Strong communication and influencing abilities.
• Passion for fashion, product and customer experience.
