Deputy Team Manager – Adult Social Care

About the role

Blackpool Council is seeking an experienced Deputy Team Manager to support its Community Adult Social Care service during a period of transformation. The role will provide operational and professional leadership to a multidisciplinary team, ensuring high‑quality, person‑centred practice.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, manage and support a team of social workers and practitioners.
• Oversee complex casework, safeguarding enquiries and risk management.
• Ensure timely, high‑quality Care Act assessments, reviews and care planning.
• Drive performance, quality assurance and continuous service improvement.
• Provide supervision, coaching and workforce development.
• Work collaboratively with health, housing, providers and voluntary sector partners.
• Contribute to service transformation and improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration.
• Significant experience within Adult Social Care, including safeguarding.
• Previous experience managing staff and leading teams.
• Strong decision‑making, leadership and risk management skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced environment.
• Commitment to strengths‑based, person‑centred practice.
