Deputy Team Manager

About the role
As Deputy Team Manager you will support the delivery of the YOUnited mental health service for children and young people across Cambridgeshire and Peterborough. Working from home with occasional travel, you will provide line management to counsellors and Children’s Wellbeing Practitioners, deputise for team managers and represent Ormiston Families at multi‑disciplinary partnership meetings.
Key responsibilities
- Provide day‑to‑day line management and supervision for counsellors and CWPs.
- Support team managers in meeting service demand and KPI targets.
- Represent Ormiston Families at partnership meetings and deputise for team managers as required.
- Manage the duty system, offering advice, risk assessment and single‑session thinking support to families.
- Collaborate with the service manager to drive service improvements in line with the YOUnited business plan.
- Ensure compliance with safeguarding policies and DBS requirements.
Required profile
- Proven leadership experience in a therapeutic setting.
- Experience working with children (aged 5‑13) and their families.
- Relevant clinical qualification – e.g., RMN/RN Child, Social Worker, Counsellor, Children’s Wellbeing Practitioner or Education Mental Health Practitioner.
- Ability to travel across Cambridgeshire and Peterborough.
- Commitment to safeguarding and willingness to undergo DBS checks.

What we offer
- Salary of £38,000 per annum (35 hours/week).
