Design Engineer – Bespoke Metalwork

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Design Engineer to create bespoke metalwork for residential, commercial and marine projects. You will translate client concepts into detailed technical designs and oversee their manufacture in a specialist workshop.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with estimating, production, procurement and project teams to take projects from concept to manufacture.
• Produce detailed 2D and 3D CAD drawings and models.
• Develop and refine designs throughout each project lifecycle.
• Create fabrication drawings and comprehensive technical documentation.
• Support estimating, procurement and production with technical expertise.
• Liaise with clients, suppliers and internal colleagues to ensure successful delivery.
• Attend occasional client meetings and site visits.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a design engineering or CAD design role within manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes and technical drawing standards.
• Proven ability to interpret architectural drawings.
• Excellent communication, organisational and problem‑solving abilities.
• Capacity to manage multiple projects and work collaboratively across departments.

What we offer

• Salary £40,000‑£45,000 per year, dependent on experience.
• 31 days’ holiday including Bank Holidays.
