Design Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Design Engineer to join a leading UK manufacturer of specialist metal‑based products. The role involves delivering high‑quality mechanical designs for production process equipment and supporting ongoing investment at the Sheffield site.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and implement mechanical solutions for production process equipment.
• Produce detailed design specifications and engineering drawings using CAD software.
• Work across several areas of the production process to ensure standards are met.
• Collaborate with manufacturing teams to translate requirements into functional designs.

Required profile

• Mechanical Engineering qualification.
• Competent in CAD design packages.
• Previous experience in precision machining or a similar industry.
• Ability to work independently and take initiative.
