Design Engineer – River Infrastructure (Bristol)

About the role

We are seeking a Design Engineer to join our Structural and Geotechnical – Civils River Infrastructure team in Bristol. You will support the delivery of civil and river engineering projects, creating safe, buildable solutions for clients such as the Environment Agency and Severn Trent.

Key responsibilities

• Support the design and delivery of civil infrastructure and river engineering schemes.
• Review client requirements and develop technical solutions.
• Assist with fee proposals, project delivery activities and change control.
• Coordinate with engineers and technicians within the design team.
• Ensure designs comply with CDM Regulations, SHEMS and QMS standards.
• Develop alternative design options to improve project outcomes.

Required profile

• Experience in civil infrastructure design delivery, preferably in river or hydraulic structures.
• Post‑graduate knowledge of hydraulic structures, river engineering or related disciplines.
• Ability to apply sound engineering judgement to manage technical risk.
• Motivation to work towards Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status (e.g., CEng, MICE).
• Full UK driving licence.
