Design Manager – Construction (Hybrid)

About the role

We are seeking a Design Manager to lead the design process for large‑scale construction projects. You will oversee the full lifecycle from post‑tender design through to project completion, working in a hybrid model from our Slough office.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate the design phase of multi‑storey construction projects from post‑tender to handover.
• Liaise with internal teams, architects, engineers and external partners to keep projects on track.
• Monitor design timelines, budgets and compliance with standards.
• Identify, communicate and mitigate design‑related risks throughout the project.
• Ensure design outputs meet technical, regulatory and project‑specific requirements.
• Conduct regular design reviews and site visits to verify alignment with approved plans.
• Engage with clients to interpret their vision and deliver balanced design solutions.

Required profile

• Background in civil engineering, structural engineering, architecture or design management within construction.
• Strong organisational, technical and stakeholder‑management capabilities.
• Full driving licence.
• Excellent attention to detail and communication skills.

Required skills

• Experience with BIM design tools and workflows.
