Design Manager – Mechanical & Electrical Building Services

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Design Manager to lead the mechanical and electrical design team for a well‑established building services contractor operating across East Anglia and London. The role involves overseeing design delivery on projects up to £10 million, ensuring health and safety standards, and supporting staff development.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the M&E design team on mechanical and electrical drawings for building services projects.
• Coordinate design work, ensuring clear roles, responsibilities and performance management.
• Support estimating and tender preparation as required.
• Promote health and safety throughout the project lifecycle.
• Maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Required profile

• Qualified Design Manager with experience on M&E projects.
• Proven track record delivering projects of up to £10 million.
• Background in consultancy or contract environments.
• Strong communication skills at all levels.
