Design & Senior Design Engineer

About the role

Tekmar Energy is seeking a Design Engineer and a Senior Design Engineer to join its offshore wind and subsea product development team. You will take cable protection concepts through design, simulation, prototyping, testing and delivery for offshore wind and oil & gas projects.

Key responsibilities

• Develop product designs from concept to project delivery.
• Perform mechanical and thermal simulations of components and systems.
• Create prototypes, conduct physical testing and support on‑site manufacturing.
• Oversee subcontracted work and coordinate multidisciplinary design activities (Senior role).
• Collaborate with clients and internal teams to ensure design compliance.

Required profile

• Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline (Bachelor’s degree minimum).
• Experience designing and delivering offshore or subsea engineering projects.
• Strong problem‑solving and analytical abilities.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills.
• Knowledge of offshore and subsea industry regulations is a plus.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Autodesk Inventor or similar CAD software.
• Experience using Mathcad and/or Excel for engineering calculations.
• Ability to perform mechanical and thermal simulations.
• Skills in prototyping, physical testing, and on‑site manufacturing processes.
• Background in mechanical and electrical engineering principles.
