Design Technology Teacher – Newham, East London

About the role

We are seeking a Design Technology Teacher to join a vibrant mixed community school in Newham, East London, starting September 2026. The role involves delivering engaging Design and Technology lessons in a workshop setting, fostering creativity and practical skills among students aged 11‑16.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver Design and Technology curriculum aligned with national standards.
• Teach practical DT skills and guide students through design‑based projects.
• Maintain a safe and well‑managed workshop environment, adhering to health and safety regulations.
• Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback.
• Collaborate with colleagues to support pupils’ wellbeing and personal development.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
• Demonstrated experience teaching Design and Technology subjects.
• Strong knowledge of health and safety procedures in practical classrooms.
• Ability to manage and inspire students in a hands‑on workshop environment.
