About the role
We are seeking a qualified Design Technology Teacher to join a mixed secondary school and sixth form in Upminster, Havering. The role involves delivering engaging Design and Technology lessons to students aged 11‑18 in a workshop setting, fostering creativity and practical skills.
Key responsibilities
- Plan and deliver Design Technology curriculum across key stages.
- Teach practical DT skills using workshop equipment and resources.
- Maintain a safe and well‑managed learning environment.
- Support student‑led design projects and monitor progress.
- Assess student work and provide constructive feedback.
Required profile
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
- Demonstrated experience teaching Design and Technology subjects.
- Good knowledge of health and safety procedures in a practical classroom.
- Ability to manage a workshop‑based learning environment.
