Design Technology Teacher – Temporary to Permanent

About the role
We are seeking a Design Technology Teacher to join our mixed secondary school and sixth form in Hackney. You will deliver engaging Design and Technology lessons in a workshop setting, fostering creativity and practical skills among students aged 11‑19.
Key responsibilities
- Plan and teach practical Design Technology lessons.
- Maintain a safe and well‑equipped workshop environment.
- Support student‑led design projects and monitor progress.
- Assess and record student achievement in line with curriculum standards.
Required profile
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
- Experience teaching Design and Technology subjects.
- Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations for practical classrooms.
- Ability to manage and organise a workshop‑based learning environment.

What we offer
- Temporary 12‑week contract with the possibility of permanent employment.
- Salary paid to scale, £150‑£250 per day, dependent on full‑time experience.
- Working hours 08:20‑15:40 in a supportive, inclusive school community.
