Desk-Aligned Engineer – Commodities Trading

About the role

Join a world‑leading multi‑strategy hedge fund as a Desk‑Aligned Engineer supporting the Commodities business. You will work closely with traders, researchers and data scientists to build and enhance the technology platform that powers alpha generation across physical and financial commodity markets.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with trading, research and data teams to develop core analytics and deliver key initiatives.
• Design and implement scalable, maintainable solutions for large data sets and trading tools.
• Integrate data and insights into quantitative models and investment processes.
• Drive enhancements to the advanced technology platform to maintain competitive advantage.
• Conduct scenario analysis and improve model performance.

Required profile

• Outstanding academic record (BS, MS or PhD in Computer Science, Physics or equivalent).
• Strong motivation to work in a hands‑on, collaborative environment.
• Commitment to excellence with strong attention to detail.

Required skills

• Fluent in Python (or comparable language).
• Experience with multiple programming languages.
• Strong Unix operating‑system knowledge.
• Exposure to a variety of database technologies (SQL, NoSQL, etc.).
