Desk Loss Adjuster (Remote)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Desk Loss Adjuster to join a long‑established claims management organisation that is expanding its loss adjusting practice. The role is fully remote, with quarterly visits to the Leeds head office, and involves managing domestic and commercial property damage claims from initial report through to settlement.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a personal portfolio of property claims end‑to‑end, including the repair stage.
• Liaise with insurers, policyholders, contractors, surveyors and other parties via email and telephone.
• Gather and assess evidence (photos, videos) to determine liability and build scopes of work.
• Negotiate and agree cash settlements for general perils such as fire, flood, water escape, storm and impact.
• Arrange alternative accommodation for policyholders when required.

Required profile

• Proven experience handling a full portfolio of property claims covering all general perils.
• Ability to produce accurate scopes of work from visual evidence.
• Strong communication skills and confidence working remotely.
• Background in insurance claims, contracting, housing or maintenance.
• Relevant industry qualifications (e.g., BDMA, Cert CILA) are advantageous.
