Desktop Migration Support Engineer (12‑Month Contract)

About the role

We are looking for a Desktop Migration Support Engineer on a 12‑month contract to join a high‑profile banking client in Chester. The role combines day‑to‑day end‑user support with assistance during desktop migration projects, helping users adopt new virtual desktop and application technologies.

Key responsibilities

• Provide first‑line desktop and end‑user support, ensuring a positive customer experience.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to desktops, applications, hardware and access.
• Support users through migration activities, including device setup, onboarding and post‑migration assistance.
• Act as a primary point of contact, delivering clear communication and guidance.
• Assist remote‑working users and manage remote‑access technologies.
• Collaborate with engineering and support teams to escalate and resolve technical problems.
• Maintain accurate records of incidents, activities and tasks.
• Contribute to user documentation, FAQs and knowledge‑sharing resources.

Required profile

• Proven experience in a Desktop Support, IT Support, Service Desk or End‑User Computing role.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Positive attitude, willingness to learn and passion for delivering high‑quality user experiences.
