Desktop Support Engineer – Birmingham (Hybrid)

About the role

You will join a multidisciplinary ICT team delivering software and hardware solutions in a fast‑paced environment. The role provides second‑line helpdesk coverage from 8 am to 6 pm, supporting both office‑based and remote users.

Key responsibilities

• Investigate and resolve 2nd line IT calls (software and hardware), keeping end users informed and escalating major issues.
• Write and maintain ICT guidance for colleagues and Commission employees.
• Ensure ICT support meets operational, business continuity and security requirements.
• Build effective relationships with stakeholders to resolve IT queries efficiently.
• Make minor changes to ICT systems in an indirectly supervised environment.
• Adapt to a fast‑evolving environment to enable smooth delivery of ICT solutions.

Required profile

• Ability to provide administrative support and troubleshoot Windows 11 and iOS operating systems.
• Experience with Microsoft Office 365 suite, SharePoint, OneDrive, Active Directory/AAD, Intune, Entra, Adobe Creative Cloud and IBM products.
• Hands‑on experience configuring and troubleshooting Microsoft Surface laptops, Apple iPhones and iPads.
• Proven ability to manage competing priorities in a fast‑paced setting.
