Desktop Support Technician – Leeds (Contract)

About the role

Join a leading UK telecoms and technology services provider as a Desktop Support Technician based in Leeds. You will act as the primary on‑site point of contact, delivering hardware installations, device swaps, automated builds and desk‑side support while handling walk‑up queries and warranty repairs.

Key responsibilities

• Provide desktop hardware installation, device swaps and assist users on‑site.
• Initiate automated builds and scripted post‑login configuration on laptops after software failures.
• Manage hardware repairs through defined warranty routes.
• Deliver desk‑side support and address walk‑up software and hardware issues.
• Maintain accurate records in ServiceNow and follow established procedures.
• Conduct proactive scheduled checks of desks and meeting rooms to maximise availability.
• Support meeting‑room AV equipment and diagnose faults.
• Escalate issues to Team Leaders when required.

Required profile

• Experience working as a Tech 2 or similar desktop support role.
• Ability to work independently or as part of an on‑site team.
• Familiarity with warranty processes and hardware repair handling.
• Strong attention to detail and adherence to procedures.

Required skills

• Desktop hardware installation and device swapping.
• Automated build tools and scripted post‑login configuration.
• ServiceNow ticketing system.
• Meeting‑room AV equipment troubleshooting.
• Basic Windows operating system support.

• Competitive hourly rate of £14.90 – £19.33 (IR35 compliant).
• Fixed‑term contract from June 2026 to June 2027.
• Full‑time Monday‑Friday schedule (09:00‑17:30) on‑site.
