Despatch Team Leader – Warehouse Operations

About the role

We are looking for a proactive Despatch Team Leader to oversee shift activity in our Yate warehouse. Reporting to the Despatch Manager and, out of hours, the Shift Manager, you will ensure safe, efficient and accurate dispatch operations while maintaining high customer service standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead health & safety initiatives, raise hazards and support accident investigations.
• Allocate labour and resources to meet workload and service level targets.
• Train, coach and mentor operators across all despatch functions.
• Deliver toolbox talks, conduct Short Interval Control activities and provide daily shift feedback.
• Escalate supply issues and liaise with customers, including out‑of‑hours communication.
• Oversee forklift‑based duties such as palletisation, order picking, loading, sorting and housekeeping.
• Maintain accurate stock movements in the COBIS warehouse management system.
• Produce delivery documentation, coordinate driver activity and ensure on‑time‑in‑full performance.
• Complete end‑of‑shift reporting and monitor shift performance.
