Development Lead – Housing Projects

About the role

The Development Lead will manage a small team responsible for the design, development and delivery of major housing projects within Stoke‑on‑Trent’s ambitious housing pipeline. You will play a key part in delivering new affordable homes and regenerating challenging sites across the city.

Key responsibilities

• Lead a team to oversee design, planning and construction of major housing developments.
• Coordinate with Homes England, Fortier Homes and other partners to meet delivery targets.
• Manage the affordable housing pipeline, aiming for 200 new homes over the next five years.
• Ensure projects comply with regulatory standards and council policies.
• Drive regeneration initiatives on complex sites to create thriving communities.

Required profile

• Degree‑level qualification in Housing Development, Regeneration, Town Planning, Project Management or a related field.
• Significant experience in housing development within a local authority, registered provider or private house‑building environment.
• Proven ability to lead a small team and deliver large‑scale projects.
