Development Officer – Housing Projects

About the role

TristoneNash Ltd, working exclusively with Westward Housing Group, is seeking an experienced Development Officer to join its Development and Asset Management Directorates. The role will support housing development schemes from early opportunity through to handover, turning plans into high‑quality, affordable homes.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out appraisals on Section 106 and land‑lead scheme opportunities and prepare submissions for the New Business Panel.
• Identify development opportunities, manage property purchase and land acquisition processes.
• Prepare planning applications and coordinate consultant workloads.
• Progress schemes into contract and provide information to delivery and sales teams.
• Manage defects rectification and organise resident involvement events.

Required profile

• Proven experience working for a housing provider across development functions.
• Strong project‑management background with the ability to appraise new development opportunities.
• Good knowledge of housing legislation, policy, practice and regulatory funding systems used by housing associations.

Required skills

• Proficiency with appraisal software tools, including the PROVAL appraisal tool.
• Excellent presentation, communication, negotiation, planning and organisational abilities.
