DevOps Engineer – AWS, Terraform, Docker (Remote, UK)

About the role

We are partnering with a fast‑growing technology consultancy delivering a major cloud transformation programme for a leading UK retailer. The team is seeking an experienced AWS DevOps Engineer to drive automation, platform reliability and cloud infrastructure delivery on a remote basis.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain AWS cloud infrastructure.
• Develop and manage Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.
• Create and enhance CI/CD pipelines for rapid, reliable software delivery.
• Support containerised workloads and deployment strategies (Docker, ECS/Kubernetes).
• Collaborate with engineering teams to improve automation, observability and platform resilience.
• Promote DevOps best practices across deployment, monitoring and operational processes.
• Troubleshoot infrastructure and deployment issues in complex cloud environments.
• Contribute to platform scalability, security and performance improvements.

Required profile

• Strong commercial experience with AWS cloud services.
• Proven expertise in Terraform and Infrastructure as Code.
• Hands‑on experience designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines.
• Solid background with Docker and container orchestration platforms such as ECS or Kubernetes.
• Experience supporting production cloud environments and strong troubleshooting skills.
• Familiarity with monitoring, observability tooling and cloud security best practices.
