DevOps Engineer (AWS) – up to £80k – London/Hybrid

About the role

We are looking for a bright, ambitious DevOps Engineer to join a scaling investment research and market data tech company. The role involves building and scaling AWS cloud infrastructure, automating deployments and ensuring reliability.

Key responsibilities

• Design, automate and optimise modern AWS environments using Terraform and IaC.
• Manage containerised workloads on ECS and enhance CI/CD pipelines.
• Implement monitoring, logging and cloud security best practices.
• Collaborate with software engineers to improve platform reliability and developer experience.
• Support database infrastructure, internal tooling and operational automation.
• Drive infrastructure governance, documentation, cost optimisation and scalability.

Required profile

• 2:1 degree or higher from a top‑tier university (e.g., Russell Group, Oxbridge).
• Experience in a FinTech or financial services environment.
• Strong background with AWS cloud infrastructure.
• Hands‑on experience with ECS, Terraform (or similar IaC), and CI/CD pipelines.
• Good understanding of cloud networking, VPCs, load balancing and security groups.
• Experience with IAM, access control and cloud security principles.
• Proficiency in scripting/automation using Python or similar languages.
• Excellent communication and collaborative skills.
