DevOps Engineer – Azure Cloud (Hybrid, £600‑£650/day)

About the role

We are seeking a hands‑on DevOps Engineer to join a key client’s cloud infrastructure team in Slough. Working hybrid (two days onsite in Slough, one day in Piccadilly), you will split your time between day‑to‑day operational support and project delivery, reporting to the Azure Cloud Architect.

Key responsibilities

• Design and evolve Azure cloud infrastructure, embedding enterprise‑grade security from the start.
• Develop and maintain infrastructure‑as‑code using Terraform and YAML pipelines in Azure DevOps.
• Deploy, manage and troubleshoot containerised workloads on Kubernetes (AKS) and, where required, Red Hat OpenShift.
• Balance project delivery with BAU support, ensuring reliability and continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with multinational project teams and external technical partners.

Required profile

• Excellent communicator able to engage technical and non‑technical stakeholders internationally.
• Adaptable team player who can work independently and shift priorities between support and project work.
• Comfortable in a small, close‑knit team environment.

Required skills

• Extensive experience with Azure Cloud services (networking, compute, storage, platform).
• Proficiency in Terraform for infrastructure‑as‑code.
• Strong knowledge of Azure DevOps and YAML pipeline development.
• Hands‑on experience with Kubernetes, specifically Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS).
• Familiarity with Red Hat OpenShift (desirable).
• Solid understanding of security controls such as identity, access management and encryption.
