DevOps Engineer (Hybrid, Edinburgh)

About the role
You will join a fast‑growing space‑tech company in Edinburgh, working within a skilled engineering function that spans embedded firmware, developer tooling and cloud applications. Your mission is to boost the speed, reliability and quality of software delivery by designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, managing test environments, tracking performance with DORA metrics, ensuring observability and upholding security best practices.
Key responsibilities
- Design, implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines across multiple platforms.
- Manage test environments and ensure stable, secure deployments.
- Monitor delivery performance using DORA metrics and improve observability.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to streamline build, test and release processes.
- Maintain environment stability and liaise with customers when deployments affect their infrastructure.
Required profile
- Solid experience across the full software delivery lifecycle.
- Proficient with distributed version control (Git or Mercurial).
- Hands‑on with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI or Azure DevOps.
- Ability to write clean scripts in Python, shell or PowerShell.
- Experience with OCI containers (Docker, Podman, Kubernetes, LXCA) and artifact management.
- Strong understanding of networking fundamentals (DNS, IP, firewalls, VPN).
- Full eligibility to work in the UK.
