DevOps Engineer

About the role

Our client in Manchester is looking for a DevOps Engineer to design, build and optimise an Azure‑based infrastructure. You will lead automation, security and performance initiatives across the software development lifecycle while working in a collaborative, inclusive environment.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps.
• Automate build, test, deployment and infrastructure provisioning.
• Manage Azure resources with Terraform, Bicep or ARM templates.
• Support applications running on Azure App Services, Function Apps and related services.
• Integrate automated testing, code‑quality and security tools such as SonarCloud and Snyk.
• Set up monitoring and incident response with Azure Monitor and Application Insights.
• Manage secrets and access control to enforce secure cloud practices.
• Collaborate with developers and stakeholders to deliver scalable, reliable solutions.

Required profile

• 3+ years of experience in a DevOps or Cloud Engineering role.
• Hands‑on experience with Azure DevOps and CI/CD pipelines.
• Proficient in scripting (PowerShell, Bash or Python).
• Experience with Docker and containerisation.
• Familiarity with Agile/Lean methodologies.
• Proactive, detail‑oriented mindset.
