DevOps Engineer

About the role

Zinc is expanding its engineering function and needs a dedicated DevOps Engineer to maintain and extend the Zinc Platform, improve developer experience, and modernise architecture, CI pipelines and deployment strategy.

Key responsibilities

• Work closely with the Platform Lead to understand business needs and current DevOps practices.
• Define and own developer‑experience tools and policies, driving quality across the engineering function.
• Collaborate on strategic platform architecture improvements to support scaling.
• Design, implement and maintain best‑practice CI/CD pipelines.
• Help modernise target areas of the application to achieve scalable architecture.

Required profile

• Strategic thinker comfortable partnering with the Platform Lead and wearing multiple hats.
• Mid‑to‑senior level with a track record of owning and delivering complex platform initiatives.
• Broad experience across DevOps, SRE or Platform Engineering domains.

• Typescript
• YAML (CI/CD pipelines)
• Docker/containers and AWS ECS
• CircleCI (or similar CI/CD tooling)
• JavaScript and functional programming concepts
• Terraform and Terragrunt
• AWS cloud services
