Diagnostic Radiographer – Veterinary Imaging

About the role
The Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies at the University of Edinburgh is seeking a qualified diagnostic radiographer with MRI experience to join its imaging team. You will work in the Hospital for Small Animals and Large Animals and the Large Animal Research Imaging Facilities, producing high‑quality diagnostic images for clinical and research purposes.
Key responsibilities
- Operate and maintain MRI, CT and radiography equipment for small and large animals.
- Organise and prioritise daily and weekly imaging workload, both independently and as part of a team.
- Teach veterinary students in all aspects of diagnostic image production.
- Plan and oversee equipment maintenance programmes and ensure effective image archiving.
Required profile
- Qualified diagnostic radiographer with at least two years of MRI experience.
- Strong interest in teaching and working with animals.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Willingness to work flexible hours and handle animals safely.
Required skills
- MRI operation and interpretation.
- CT imaging.
- Radiography.
- Knowledge of radiation protection and MRI regulations.
- Animal handling techniques.
