Digital Communications Officer

About the role

As a Digital Communications Officer at Ofgem, you will help millions of consumers, businesses and stakeholders access clear and engaging information about the UK energy sector and the transition to Net Zero. Working on a 24‑month fixed‑term contract, you will create, review and publish high‑quality website content that meets user needs and supports organisational objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, write, edit and publish website content using the organisation’s content management system.
• Support digital communications campaigns from concept through to launch, ensuring timely delivery.
• Apply content design principles, audience insight and performance data to make complex information easy to understand.
• Ensure all content is user‑centred, findable, usable and complies with accessibility standards.
• Monitor analytics and user feedback to continuously improve content performance.
• Collaborate with policy, stakeholder engagement, events and strategic communications teams.

Required profile

• Strong writing and editing abilities with attention to detail.
• Experience working with content management systems and digital publishing workflows.
• Good understanding of content standards, accessibility requirements and style guidelines.
• Ability to interpret analytical data and user research to inform content decisions.
• Collaborative mindset and enthusiasm for public‑service communication.
