Digital Content Manager

About the role

The Digital Content Manager will lead the digital content function for a Combined Authority in Ellesmere Port, shaping the online voice ahead of the first mayoral election in 2027. This senior, temporary position is responsible for creating a strategic, insight‑driven content plan that aligns with the authority’s priorities and supports both proactive and reactive communications.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deliver the Combined Authority’s digital content strategy and forward plan, ensuring alignment with corporate priorities and the upcoming mayoral transition.
• Establish scalable digital channels, processes and content standards to support the 2027 elections.
• Collaborate with constituent councils, partner organisations, transport bodies and external agencies to maintain consistent messaging.
• Create clear, accessible digital content for statutory consultations and public engagement.
• Work closely with the Head of News to amplify campaigns, announcements and major events across all platforms.
• Lead content delivery on the website, social media, newsletters and video platforms, ensuring brand compliance and accessibility.
• Use analytics and audience insights to continuously improve content performance.

Required profile

• Senior practitioner with a pragmatic, confident and organised approach.
• Proven ability to work across multiple organisations and build inclusive relationships.
• Experience delivering digital content for public sector or statutory consultation contexts.
• Strong understanding of digital accessibility standards and best practices.
