About the role
The Counter Terrorism Command’s Digital Media Examinations department is seeking a motivated Digital Media Examiner Technician to join its team in West Brompton. You will support critical investigations by performing forensic examinations on a range of digital devices.
Key responsibilities
- Perform forensic imaging and data extraction from mobile phones, computers and storage media.
- Support police officers and other non‑technical staff in operating digital forensic systems.
- Quality‑assure examinations and conduct peer reviews.
- Provide evidence‑viewing capabilities for investigating officers.
- Answer technical queries from non‑technical staff and police personnel.
- Appear in court as a witness of fact when required.
Required profile
- Strong numeracy and excellent attention to detail.
- Highly organised with solid management skills.
- Ability to build effective relationships with customers, colleagues and stakeholders.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Capability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Required skills
- Forensic imaging of digital devices.
- Data extraction from mobile phones, computers and storage media.
- Use of digital forensic examination systems.
- Quality assurance and peer‑review of forensic examinations.

What we offer
- Starting salary of £46,985 per year, rising to £49,670.
- Location allowance of £2,009 and a non‑pensionable allowance of £1,000.
