About the role
BDC is seeking a Principal Director of Commercial Accounts to leverage interpersonal strengths and an established regional network to generate new business opportunities while managing an existing client portfolio. The role focuses on supporting Canadian entrepreneurs with revenues between $3 M and $50 M through financing solutions and advisory services.
Key responsibilities
- Meet entrepreneurs to understand their needs and challenges, providing tailored advice and BDC service offerings.
- Execute an action plan aligned with business‑centre objectives to grow and retain current clients while acquiring new ones and building a pipeline of opportunities.
- Review, negotiate, and present financing proposals, applying sound credit judgment.
- Maintain a visible presence in the local business community, networking within existing Centers of Influence (COI) to develop relationships and generate referrals.
Required profile
- Passion for business development and a well‑established network in the Burlington, Oakville, Milton, or Georgetown area.
- Proven ability to create new opportunities and manage a portfolio of commercial clients.
- Commitment to professional growth within a diverse and engaged team.
