Director – Credit & Restructuring Tax

About the role

We are seeking a Director to lead our Credit & Restructuring Tax practice. You will work on high‑profile, complex transactions for funds, institutional investors, lenders and borrowers across the UK and internationally.

Key responsibilities

• Advise clients on tax aspects of lending, borrowing, distressed debt, corporate restructurings and cross‑border financing.
• Lead engagements from initial structuring discussions through to execution.
• Manage and develop strategic client relationships.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including transaction tax, M&A and real estate.
• Mentor and develop junior staff, fostering an inclusive culture.
• Support business development and contribute to thought‑leadership initiatives.

Required profile

• Strong technical tax background with experience in credit, restructuring and financing transactions.
• Proven ability to manage complex, commercial‑driven projects.
• Excellent client‑facing skills and a track record of building long‑term relationships.
• Leadership experience in a professional services environment.

Required skills

• In‑depth knowledge of UK tax legislation relevant to credit and restructuring.
• Understanding of international tax implications for cross‑border deals.
• Ability to interpret and apply tax rules to bespoke transaction structures.
