Director, Impact Evaluation, Monitoring, and Learning

About the role

Root Capital is seeking a senior leader to shape and execute its Impact Measurement, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) strategy. Reporting to the VP of Strategy & Insights, the Director will ensure that data‑driven insights guide organizational decisions and that the organization is recognized as a sector thought leader.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of Root Capital’s impact monitoring and evaluation systems.
• Demonstrate direct and systems‑level impact to external stakeholders and align reporting with the organization’s vision and peer benchmarks.
• Collaborate with Partnerships, Strategy & Insights, and other teams to integrate MEL priorities into strategic decision‑making.
• Oversee the operational and financial sustainability of MEL systems, advising leadership on efficiency.
• Represent Root Capital in external forums to promote best‑in‑class MEL practices.

Required profile

• Extensive experience leading impact measurement, evaluation, and learning initiatives, preferably in the agricultural or development finance sector.
• Proven ability to communicate impact findings to diverse external audiences.
• Strong collaborative skills with cross‑functional teams and external partners.
