Director – Mining, Metals & Materials Investment Banking

About the role

The Director will build, lead and scale Evago’s specialist investment banking, capital markets and academy platform for the mining, metals and materials sector across Africa. Reporting to senior leadership, the role covers mining assets, critical minerals, industrial materials, commodity trade flows and related financing structures.

Key responsibilities

• Originate, structure and execute M&A, capital raising, project and structured finance transactions across the mining, metals and materials value chain.
• Develop and manage a high‑quality deal pipeline across African markets, establishing Evago as a specialist adviser and capital partner.
• Design financing solutions including debt/equity placements, pre‑export finance, trade finance, royalty/streaming and asset‑backed structures.
• Collaborate with the CIO, corporate finance, global markets, treasury, lending, trade services and legal teams to deliver solutions.
• Engage investors, operators, governments, DFIs and other stakeholders to support sector platforms and education programmes.

Required profile

• Proven track record in investment banking or capital markets within the mining, metals or materials sector.
• Strong network with mining operators, commodity traders, investors, DFIs and government agencies in Africa.
• Ability to lead and grow a sector‑focused team and platform.
