Director of Digital and Systems

About the role

This senior leadership position will shape the digital, systems and data landscape of a newly created regional public sector authority. You will build the technology foundation from scratch, define the strategic direction and lead the implementation of core platforms while working in a hybrid model.

Key responsibilities

• Define the digital, systems and data vision, roadmap and investment priorities.
• Design enterprise architecture and set technical standards for the organisation.
• Assess, select and implement core platforms such as ERP, finance, HR, CRM, Microsoft 365, collaboration and integration tools.
• Lead data migration and systems integration across multiple legacy organisations.
• Plan and execute live service transitions, cutovers, readiness activities and stabilisation.
• Establish standards for cyber security, information governance, accessibility and secure‑by‑design delivery.
• Manage suppliers, procurement, contracts and value realisation.
• Build the initial team, service management arrangements and governance framework for long‑term operation.

Required profile

• Proven senior leadership experience in digital transformation, preferably within the public sector.
• Ability to move fluidly between strategic planning and hands‑on delivery.
• Strong decision‑making skills with a focus on architectural quality and risk mitigation.
• Experience building capability and teams from the ground up.

Required skills
