Director of Financial Planning and Control

About the role

ELEMIS is seeking a senior finance leader to head its Financial Planning & Control function from the Bristol office. Reporting to the CFO, you will shape financial strategy, strengthen governance and drive performance across a global business while building a high‑performing finance team.

Key responsibilities

• Lead three core finance functions – FP&A, Management Accounting, and Transactional Finance & Transformation.
• Design and implement a unified reporting and planning framework to create a "no‑surprises" environment.
• Integrate legal‑entity accounting with geographic management to provide clear performance insight.
• Advise the Global Management Committee, translating financial data into actionable commercial strategies.
• Establish rigorous capital allocation and Capex reporting processes, tracking ROI and cash impact.
• Mentor and develop three direct reports, fostering a culture of accountability and precision.
• Harmonise accounting treatments and policies across regions, eliminating inconsistencies.
• Drive change management initiatives, automate manual processes and embed a "right‑first‑time" mindset.
• Build a succession pipeline and ensure continuous talent development within the finance team.

Required profile

• Transformational, commercially‑minded finance leader with experience modernising and scaling global finance functions.
• Proven track record in financial planning, reporting, governance and strategic partnership with senior business leaders.
• Strong leadership and people‑development skills, capable of managing senior finance managers.
• Excellent analytical and communication abilities, able to translate complex data into clear business recommendations.
