Director of Operations

About the role

Blue Gem is looking for a senior leader to run its entire portfolio of premium workspaces. Reporting directly to the CEO and sitting on the Board from day one, you will own the full P&L and drive commercial performance across all sites.

Key responsibilities

• Run multi‑site operations across the whole portfolio.
• Negotiate group‑wide supplier, contractor and procurement agreements.
• Lead, develop and hold the Business Manager team accountable at every site.
• Own cross‑site audits covering standards, health & safety, fire and risk.
• Take full P&L, revenue and budget responsibility for the business.
• Manage capex, refurbishment and reconfiguration projects.
• Lead new centre openings end‑to‑end, from fit‑out to handover.
• Implement systems and process roll‑outs across the organisation.
• Maintain brand and service consistency across all locations.
• Drive commercial performance through pricing, yield and upsell strategies.
• Handle escalated and complex client relationships.
• Participate in Board meetings and report directly to the CEO.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading at Board level or ready for Board‑level responsibility.
• Inspirational leader of dispersed, multi‑site teams.
• Outcome‑focused with a track record of delivering results, not just outputs.
• Highly organised with the ability to prioritise ruthlessly.
• Confident communicator at all levels, including senior leadership.
• Strong relationship‑building and negotiation skills.
• Client‑centric mindset.

Required skills

What we offer

• Base salary £85,000–£90,000 plus a 50% company bonus.
