Director of Product Development & Quality (Remote, UK)

About the role

We are seeking a senior professional to lead the strategic and operational management of product development, quality assurance and regulatory compliance for a growing Awarding Organisation and End‑Point Assessment Organisation. Reporting to the CEO, you will ensure that all qualifications and apprenticeship assessments meet Ofqual Conditions of Recognition and drive innovation through technology and AI.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the product team in designing and writing qualification and apprenticeship products and assessments.
• Oversee all stages of product design, development, testing with employers and providers, and ‘go live’ delivery.
• Ensure all products comply with Ofqual requirements and internal quality standards.
• Manage product and quality review, standardisation, moderation and continuous improvement activities.
• Allocate resources to meet sector priorities and refine product processes.
• Identify and implement technology and AI solutions to enhance efficiency.
• Stand in for the CEO when required.

Required profile

• Significant experience in qualification, curriculum or assessment product development.
• Extensive knowledge of Ofqual regulations and regulated qualifications.
• Background in an Awarding Organisation, EPAO or similar regulated environment.
• Strong quality assurance, compliance and audit experience.
• Proven leadership and people‑management skills.
• Experience of standardisation, moderation and assessment design.
• Teaching qualification and assessment/quality assurance qualification.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management and organisational abilities.

What we offer

• Salary up to £65,000 per annum.
• 25 days holiday plus 3 gifted days (rising to 31 after 5 years) and bank holidays.
• 10% pension contribution.
