Director of Special Projects – Security Leadership

About the role

The Director, Special Projects will lead enterprise security strategy for The Nuclear Company’s fleet‑scale nuclear construction and operational programs. Reporting to senior leadership, this role acts as a trusted advisor to executives, regulators, and government stakeholders, ensuring people, assets, and reputation are protected throughout every project phase.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute enterprise‑wide security strategies aligned with the company’s nuclear construction mission.
• Provide technical authority and executive assurance across multiple project portfolios, ensuring regulatory compliance and operational resilience.
• Design and implement scalable security operating models and service frameworks for numerous sites.
• Lead governance and delivery of nuclear and critical national infrastructure (CNI) security services.
• Oversee physical security architecture and engineering for construction and operational locations.
• Direct enterprise‑level risk, threat, and vulnerability management programs.
• Lead crisis management and business resilience planning for a full spectrum of security scenarios.
• Mentor and develop senior security teams across international and U.S. entities.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in civil and defense nuclear security and CNI protection.
• Proven track record of delivering complex, high‑value programs within highly regulated environments.
• Demonstrated ability to advise executive boards and regulatory bodies on security strategy.
• Strong leadership skills with experience managing multidisciplinary security teams.
